Antique leather and wicker Victorian carrying basket features fine metal clasps and handle attachments made by Geschutzt of Austria. Black painted wood base and bentwood bindings are finely nailed into place. Leather straps wrap around central body with decorative turnkey bronze clasps. Sturdy leather top handles. Body is a woven composite of wicker, bamboo and cotton woven grosgrain ribbon. Silver tone medallion front and center looks like it may have been more embellished or had an additional facing at one point. 
A lovely collectible historic piece perfect for decor, storage, window display, photo or theater prop.
 
Good vintage condition for a relic of the 1800s. Leather is a bit stiff and dry but sturdy and stable. There is visual dust overall outside that could be gently cleaned with canned air or other methods. Clean inside. Lid and clasps are intact and function fine. 
 
Measures: Body is 9" x 5" x 6.5". Handles stand 3.5 " tall above lid.
