Original pastel illustration of steeples in a historic, European cityscape. I love the palette and feeling of height, as if the artist were viewing this scene and interpretting it from an upper-story window.
The notes on the lower left side suggest it was drawn by a German artist in the town of Tallinn in Estonia, which was referred to as Reval from the 13th century to 1918 and again during Nazi occupation 1941-1944. Those marks read 'Reval 23' and EV Bulmerincs, which seems to be a German name by my research.
Excellent vintage condition as found in sealed framing. Purchased in Vallejo, California.
Measures: 16" x 12" in frame / 9.5" x 5.5" exposed artwork inside of matting.
